Mt May Medium Bushwalk
add this page to My Favorites
Mt May is just south of Mt Maroon, it is covered in dry eucalypt woodland and heath which flower spectacularly in spring. We plan to follow the track from the Mt. May campsite up the north ridge to the north summit (about 3 hours up). It is a steep climb along an eroded track with some easy rock scrambling. From the north summit we need to cross to the south summit which has great views of Mt Barney. We will descend from the south summit via the south-western ridge back to the road. A short rock face needs to be downclimbed on this route (about 1 hour to Graces Hut Rd). Then we just walk back along road to cars.

Leaving Brisbane at 7am
RSVP by 4th September online
Bring plenty of water and a sense of adventure
Apart from the eroded up track, the rest of the walk is off track and could be scratchy
