Bushwalks in 2017
add this page to My Favorites
This group organises 4-5 Sunday walks per year. They are designed to cater for all levels of fitness including easy walks of less than 5km usually on the coast, moderate track walks in national parks usually less than 15km long, and the occasional hard walk that features some off track walking, mountain climbing or similar. A regular bushwalker would consider the walks to be easy to moderate. The harder walks are in winter, the easier ones in summer or spring. All walks are no more than 2 hours drive from Brisbane and alternate between walks north, south and west of Brisbane. We usually car pool and to enable this to happen, we need to know that your coming well in advance of the walk. You can register via this website or via The most up to date information for any of the walks is on this website. Please check the website closer to the time of the walk for changes.

For 2017, the following day walks are planned:
5 February - Tallebudgera Creek to Burleigh Heads via Fleays Track - 3km walk
7 May - Mount Mitchell, Cunningsham Gap - MODERATE
9 July - Running Creek Falls, Lamington NP - HARD
27 August - Kinaba Wetland - Cooloola NP - MODERATE - 13km
3-5 November - Springbrook Rainforest Rescue Project

Other walks on request

Please get in touch if you want to go to these places. We can organise a day to go there. Email Peter on

White Rock, south of Redbank Plains - EASY
Cape Moreton with 4WD Taxi and barge, need a group of at least 4 people (Myself and 3 others) minimum. Approx cost including barge and taxi $132 - $100pp depending on how many want to come. More the merrier and cheaper! Cape Moreton is unique and on our doorstep. So we should go there at least once.

Program for 2018!

February - Tangarloma fun family day - The plan is to catch the vehicle barge (walk on same day return adults $42) to the The Wrecks, Tangalooma at 8.30am. Depending on the tide, we will go for a snorkel at The Wrecks, walk to the Tangalooma Resort, have a swim in their pool and walk to The Desert behind the resort. We can base ourselves at the barge landing spot at the The Wrecks. Everyone can do as little or as much as they want. Return barge is leaving at 16.30pm so we all have 6.5 hours to play!

June - Mt Cooroora - Hard
