Felix Johann Kuhn 6 April 1950 – 15 December 2016
It is with great sadness that we have to say good bye to Felix Kuhn, who passed away in the early hours of Thursday morning on 15 December 2016.
In the later years of his illness Felix was sadly unable to communicate with the world around him.
Felix, originally from Winterthur, arrived in Australia in 1978 as an engineer with BBC Baden, Switzerland (today ABB). He then worked for Evans Deakin (an Australian engineering company) and later with Downer EDI.
Initially he stayed with Peter and Lorly Wihler until he met Ursula, his future wife. Their oldest son Markus was born in 1981 and soon after came Alexandra and Andreas. Together with his family, Felix spent close to two years in Biloela, where he worked at the Callide power station. Felix was a well liked and respected member of the Swiss community, a long time member of the Swiss Society of Queensland, where he held various positions on the committee, including two years as President (1984–86). He also was a member of SACCI (Swiss Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry) and a Life member of the
Swiss Community Care Society. Many of us remember him as an avid tennis player and a keen camper when the Swiss went on their camping trips.
We would like to express our heartfelt condolences to his family.
Rest in Peace dear Felix, you will be missed.
